Guy Marvin, chair, First Coast’s Board of Directors.

Guy Marvin is the chair of First Coast’s Board of Directors. He is the retired president of the Florida Insurance Council where he served from 2003 to 2010. Previously, he served as the senior vice president and general counsel of Independent Life Insurance Company. He has had a distinguished career as an attorney and professional in the insurance community, as well as a long, outstanding relationship with the Florida Insurance Council. His achievements on behalf of the insurance community include service as chair of the FIC Executive Committee and Board; president of the Florida Insurance News Service, now part of FIC; and Florida State vice president, American Council of Life Insurance. He has extensive lobbying experience. He was legislative representative for the domestic life insurance industry in Jacksonville for years, prior to joining Independent Life. He has extensive experience in property and casualty issues as well. He is a licensed Series 66 and Series 7 insurance agent and was a recipient of the Wade D. Holland Distinguished Service Award, which is given annually by the Council. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Florida Law School.
